I just finished rebuilding the side gate to our back yard. Here are before and after photos:
Yeah, it's not perfectly square. Considering the ground is uneven, the post sunk in the concrete (which I didn't try to replace, just stripped and waterproofed) is tilted, and I only used hand tools, it's a pretty good job.
I wish I had Steamboat McGoo's wood shop, but I don't have the space. Not only would it be much easier to get stuff fitted perfectly, jobs would take about half the time.

It's tough to not have a man-crush on that guy McGoo for his "make stuff" skill.
Looks like you had to finagle the bottom of the door a bit, but we work to make things function (form is secondary). I have a project coming up this winter, and yours gives me a positive attitude.
Wish me luck!
The toughest part of getting something done is deciding you can do it, no?

Yah, there's 2" of slope from post to post on the concrete walk, and 1.5" of skew from bottom to top on the old post. Â All due to the house's concrete slab settling unevenly over the years. Â All things considered, I'm happy with the end result.
Also, I knew I'd forgotten a few folks in my new 'fake internet friends' category ... putting you in there.

Oh, and you have been vindicated on the tea party thing over at dpud, but I guess you already saw that. I'll tell you what, IVD's stated dislike of patriotic Americans pissed me right off, and your handling of it right out the box was spot-on.
